Feeling Grateful

“Gratitude is a mindset, an emotion, a deep-churning spring of mental and physical power just waiting to be unleashed.”

Welcome to the November installment of our monthly blog.  It is our aim to use the space as a way to connect with our friends, customers, and followers. We offer our take on the latest fashions, give some useful style ideas, celebrate our amazing community, and try and let you know a little about ourselves. As this is the traditional month of giving thanks, we thought we’d talk about gratitude and how we incorporate an attitude of thankfulness into our daily lives.

From Ronnie:

The feeling of gratitude starts for me when my eyes open in the morning. Every day I recite this mantra: I am awake. I am healthy. I am blessed.

Next, I write my daily list of things for which I am grateful. Number one on my list each day is that I am hugely grateful for the physical health and overall well-being of myself, my family, and my friends.

On my drive to The Store, I am filled with gratitude for being able to live in this beautiful area, surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty with people I cherish and admire. The wisdom I gain daily from so many strong, capable humans is incredibly fulfilling. The spirit of support and community thrives here, and for that, I am grateful.

Having a successful career that focuses on my love of fashion is something for which I’m hugely grateful. Combining that passion with building a business with my best friend and co-creator Evan is really the icing on the cake.

And lastly, before I close my eyes at night, I have a simple expression of gratitude: Thank you, God, for everything.

From Evan:

First and foremost, I am so grateful every day for my health and the health of my family. As a person who has been very physically active all her life, I never take for granted how lucky I am to be able to take that first deep breath in the morning, get out of bed, take a long hike or attend a pilates class. Physical activity has an enormous effect on the mental well-being of everyone, and I feel fortunate that I’m able to care for myself in that way nearly every day.

Like Ronnie, I, too, have an abundance of gratitude that I get to do what I do every day.  I still absolutely love it after nearly (gulp) 30 years! I love working in the community where I grew up, where I get to socialize and shop with people I enjoy. Of course, I am most grateful that I have the amazing good fortune to create all of this with Ronnie! We have a business partnership and, more importantly, a friendship like no other. For that and so much more, I am hugely grateful.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.  May we all be thankful.
